NAS talks about the Art
This conversation is pretty great. Artworld stars Rashid Johnson and Luis Gispert and Nas discuss Illmatic and their creative processes. They find that there’s so many parallels between painting and rapping. Nas says he feels like he needs to always do the unexpected and is always trying to do something different with his music. He mentions drawing inspirations from everyday conversations and art. He concludes by revealing that he always envied the painter’s life.
presented as part 1 of Spotify’s Music Loves Art Series via Vice
Watch the video after the jump, plus check out more footage of Nas selling his first painting for 14k at this year’s Art Basel show in Miami.
