ATLANTA — Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened while a crowd of people waited outside a shoe store on Moreland Avenue in Little Five Points.
More than two dozen people were outside Wish Clothing in northeast Atlanta Saturday morning for the release of Miami Heat star Lebron James’ $180-sneakers.
According to witnesses, an armed man tried to rob a group of customers in line about 5:30 a.m. But one of the customers who was armed with his on own handgun shot and killed the suspect.
The suspect ran just a few yards away before he collapsed and died, police said. Witnesses told Channel 2 Action News the suspect had been pick-pocketing people all week long.
"(The suspect) wanted to pick-pocket everybody. But people out here, they weren't going for none of that," said customer Taylor White.
White told Channel 2’s Amanda Cook the suspect should have thought twice before approaching the customers.

JAY-Z LAUNCHES ROC NATION SPORTS

Jay-Z is expanding his empire with the launch of Roc Nation Sports, a full-service sports management company.

According to the New York Post, Roc Nation Sports will be led by the hip-hop mogul with Juan Perez serving as president. They have partnered with CAA Sports, a division of Creative Artists Agency, and signed New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano as their first client.

“Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years,” said Jay-Z.

Cano is a member of the Yankees’ 2009 World Series championship team, a four-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and two-time Gold Glove Award winner.

“At this point in my career, I am ready to take a more active role in my endeavors both on and off the field,” said Cano. “I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- and long-term goals. I am making this important decision now so I can keep my focus on helping the Yankees succeed in 2013, while minimizing any distractions for me and my teammates.”

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation is home to music superstars including Rihanna, J. Cole, Shakira, Kylie
Minogue, and Timbaland.

Lil Wayne Banned from Tonight’s OKC vs Spurs Game (VIDEO)

The Internet is buzzing over rapper Lil Wayne’s abrupt announcement that he is banned from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City tonight where the Thunder will take on the San Antonio Spurs in game 3 of the Western conference NBA finals.
Wayne, 29, is a fixure at NBA games, especially at the New Orleans Saints and the Miami Heat home games (Weezy is from Nola and lives in Miami).
But Wayne won’t be in attendance tonight at the OKC game.

Wayne’s tweet sparked rampant speculation on Twitter.com. But ccording to sports blogger, Jill, rapper Trina is the reason.

It seems Wayne professed his love for Trina on stage at one of his concerts recently. We’re not sure if Trina — who parlayed her stripper skills into an unsuccessful rap career — ever responded to Wayne.
But the Thunder’s guard James Harden (Trina’s boyfriend) isn’t taking any chances.
By banning Wayne from the arena, Harden can fully concentrate on the game at hand rather than worrying about a known predator who impregnates women seemingly by osmosis.
Harden has good reasons to fear. Weezy, real name Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., has knocked up at least 4 women (that we know of).
