NFL Star Adrian Peterson Donates $1 Million to his Alma Mata

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has pledged $1 million to the Oklahoma athletics department, his launching pad for a stellar NFL career.
The university announced the donation Thursday. It will go toward construction of a new student housing facility and establish a football scholarship endowment in Peterson’s name.
The university says this is the largest gift to the athletics department from a former football player. Peterson says he’s been thinking about doing this “for a long time” and that he always hoped to be in a position to give back once he left school.
Peterson starred for the Sooners from 2004 through 2006 before the Vikings made him the seventh overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft.
The football team’s meeting room will also be renamed in Peterson’s honor.

Considering that he just got a $100 million contract last year.

North Carolina State lost its 11th straight men's basketball game to the University of North Carolina on Thursday night.. and the Tar Heels made this one look easy. Tyler Zeller grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds as his team tallied 48. UNC shot 48 percent from the field and led by as many as 31 points.

Needless to say, NC State players were extremely frustrated after yet another loss to intra-state rival North Carolina. After all, they haven't beaten UNC in five years.

After the game, a reporter asked junior forward Scott Wood to describe just how frustrating it is to have never beaten the Tar Heels.

"I don't know. Has your wife ever cheated on you?" Wood responded, looking directly at the reporter. "That's probably how frustrating it is."
