Floyd Mayweather Jr's FIRST Out-of-Jail Interview

Floyd Mayweather Jr. got his freedom back after being released from a Las Vegas jail last Friday following a 2 month stay. The boxing champion had not granted any interviews since his release, but PopStopTV was lucky enough to chat with him on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of 50 Cent's new movie Freelancers.

Floyd kept his answers brief because he didn't want to steal the spotlight away from 50, but he did comment on 50's success in movies, Manny Pacquiao and gave some advice to kids who wanted to follow in his footsteps.

"I'm always gonna support my friend 50 Cent. He's a great guy," Floyd said. "In the music industry he's done some record breaking things and I think he can do it also in the movie industry."

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Surrenders for 90 day Jail Stint(VIDEO)

Floyd turned himself in to a Vegas jail moments ago. 50 Cent was present in court for support.

Floyd was supposed to surrender back in January, but the judge postponed his jail date so he could fight Miguel Cotto on May 5th. It was worth it ... Floyd won ... and the fight raked in $94 MILLION in pay-per-view sales.

Floyd Mayweather gets 90 days in jail

Floyd Mayweather is heading to jail after pleading guilty Wednesday in Las Vegas Justice Court to misdemeanor battery domestic violence and harassment charges.

Mayweather was sentenced to six months in Clark County jail, but three months of the sentence was suspended. He must surrender to authorities on Jan. 6, 2012.

The 34-year-old boxer had agreed to a plea deal to avoid trial on felony allegations that he battered his three children and their mother, Josie Harris. He must also pay a $2,500 fine, complete 100 hours of community service in addition to a 12-month domestic-violence counseling class.

“One unique aspect of this case that I think is different than many others that I see on a regular basis is the extent to which this happened in front of children old enough to understand what’s happening,” Judge Melissa Saragosa told Mayweather immediately before handing down the sentence. “These were not infants. These were children in the report listed as 11 and 9 years old.”
