LIL WAYNE SPEAKS OUT ON SEIZURES, TMZ, & MTV’S ‘HOTTEST MCS’ LIST

Lil Wayne called into DJ Felli Fel on Power 106 for his first interview since being hospitalized for seizures earlier this month. He spoke out about his new album I Am Not a Human Being II and not making MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game” list.

He also cleared up the inconsistent reports surrounding his health, revealing that he’s had multiple seizures in the past.
“The bad news is I’m an epileptic. I’m prone to seizures,” said Tunechi, who’s feeling much better now. “I’m 100.”
Despite reports that he binged on codeine, Weezy attributed the seizures to “just plain stress, no rest, overworking.”

On his seizures: “The bad news is I’m an epileptic. I’m prone to seizures. This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, ya’ll just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad ’cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died, so that is why it was so serious.”

On the reason for his hospitalization: “But the reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself. That’s just typical me though.”
On his past health issues: “I have people around me. I actually have [the seizures] so much they already know what to do. They already know how to handle it. Certain times I don’t even go to the hospital, but this time, it was real bad because it was three in a row, and I’ve never had three back to back like that.
“The third one was so bad and I live in the hills in L.A. So the reason why it was bad was that I live all the way at the top, so you know how hard it is getting down those hills. That was what was so scary about it.”

On TMZ’s report that he nearly died: “That’s what they do. I can’t be upset at that. I get upset at my kids when they do things that I tell them not to do. I can’t be upset at TMZ for doing what they do. They gon’ probably come out tomorrow and say something else about somebody else that ain’t true. That’s what they do. The truth isn’t good enough for them, so they gotta twist everything up.”

On his exclusion from MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game”: “I didn’t even check the top 10 list, but I’m glad I didn’t make it neither… I probably pissed some people off at MTV or something.”

Doctor’s Office Mistakes You’re Making

Stop talking on your cell phone while you’re in the exam room. Your health is an important thing…the phone call can wait.
Stop lying. From sexual practices to bad eating habits, many patients choose not to disclose the full truth to their physicians. Unfortunately, the only way a doctor can treat you to the best of their ability is if they have as complete a picture as possible about your particular health needs. Stop being so afraid that your doctor will judge you, and start telling them the truth.

Start describing what you’re feeling as accurately as possible. Is your pain sharp or dull? Is your headache more in your temple or towards the middle of your head? These details may not seem important, but they can help your doctor make the right diagnosis for you to start feeling better.
Doctors agree that if possible, you should describe the exact location of your problem, how intense the pain is, what may have provoked it and how long it’s lasted. To help you remember, write down your symptoms, as well as any questions that you may have for the doctor during your appointment.

Start telling your doctor the full reason for your visit. Believe it or not, many people don’t explain to their doctors exactly why they’re there. Even if you have a list of concerns, disclose them to the doctor as soon as possible so that they can plan your visit accordingly.

Start telling your doctor what you expect from them. If you have certain hopes or expectations, such as a particular prescription or getting rid of a suspicious-looking mole. This isn’t to say that the doctor will always be able to deliver on your requests, but at least they’ll have a better idea of how to approach your care and be able to clearly explain what they can and can’t do for you.

Start bringing in a list of your medications and supplements. Doctors would love for more patients to tell them exactly what they’re taking, so that when they’re considering a form of treatment, they have all the information they need to provide a more reliable course of action.

Stop leaving with unaddressed concerns. If you have a question, ask, even if you think the doctor is rushed. If you’re worried your headache might be a brain tumor, say it even if you think you sound like a hypochondriac. You never know what positive impact your questions can have on the success of your treatment.

Start keeping a copy of your medical records. You don’t bring your medical records or images with you. Unless you know for certain that your doctor, particularly a new doctor, has your records and images from another office, bring them with you. Again, having a more complete picture of what they’re working with can help doctors figure out the best way to treat you.

Stop being afraid to disagree with the doctor. Yes, so many people are programmed to agree with whatever the doctor says, but if your doctor suggests you should take a particular drug or see a certain specialist, and you don’t understand why or don’t agree with them, say so. Just nodding your head and then ignoring the doctor’s recommendation the second you’re out the door will not help you feel better. Doctors aren’t mind readers – they want to know what you’re thinking so that they can prescribe a healthy course of action that you’ll actually follow.

You don’t follow through with your treatment plan. If you ask questions, help the doctor paint a complete picture of your health and voice all of your concerns, the result should be a treatment plan that fits your needs. However, all of that is useless if you don’t actually follow it. Even if you forgot your pills, or had second thoughts about the treatment plan, contact your doctor and admit to it, so they can best advise you what to do next.

5 exercises 2 do without a Gym

1) Walking – If you have stairs in your home, go up and down them a few times. Instead of waiting for the elevator, take the stairs. If you take a bus or train, get off a few stops earlier and walk the rest of the way. Whenever possible, just walk! It’s a great way to help tone up your legs.

2) Jumping Jacks – This calisthenic exercise works out your shoulders, back, thighs and calves. Start in a standing position with your feet together and your arms relaxed by your side. When you jump, move your feet apart until they are wider than your shoulders, while at the same time raising your arms over your head. Then jump back into starting position.

3) Leg lifts – This exercise can be done from sitting on a chair at your desk. Sit upright in the chair while lifting your legs until they are at a straight angle towards your hips. Lower your legs slowly and stop about 3 inches off of the floor. Hold your legs steady for about 2 seconds and then repeat.

4) Squats – Knowing how to do squats properly can firm up your butt and legs rapidly. Stand with your legs evenly apart while keeping your toes, hips and knees in a straight line. Slowly lower your body as if you were going to sit in a chair, bending the knees. Hold the position for 2 seconds and then return to starting position. Then repeat 10-15 times for an intense work out.

5) Dancing – Besides being lots of fun, dancing has many great health benefits. You will gain flexibility, strength, endurance and a sense of well being just by throwing on your favorite tunes and getting your dance on!

5 Tips For Dropping 5 Pounds By Summer

Celebrity Fitness Trainer and author of 5 Factor diet Harley Pasternak suggests 5 simple tips to lose 5 pounds or more by summer.

1. Be Physically Active All Day
"From the moment you wake up to the time you go to bed, you should be moving," says Pasternak. That means walking up the stairs instead of riding in the elevator, walking instead of driving when feasible, gardening, cleaning anything that doesn't involve your butt being glued to a chair. "At the end of the day, all those calories that you burned periodically really add up," he says.

2. Eat Five Times a Day
"When you graze instead of gorge, you have more control over how much you eat and are less likely to make bad choices," he says. Each meal or snack should include a low-fat protein, a whole grain, fiber, a healthy fat (like olive oil or canola oil) and a sugar-free or low-sugar beverage.

3. Drink Three Liters of Water Each Day
"When you drink enough water, you increase the rate at which you burn calories," says Pasternak. And when you're dehydrated, you can often mistake thirst for hunger, meaning you'll eat more than you would have if you'd stayed hydrated all day.

4. Do Five Workouts Each Week
Combine resistance training with cardio and work up a sweat for at least 25 minutes in each workout. "Make sure your program changes from day to day, in order to make sure your body changes," Pasternak says.

5. Give Yourself a Free Day Each Week
"Indulge in eating a treat such as dark chocolate and sleep in late," says Pasternak. "It will motivate you to keep up a healthy lifestyle during the other six days."

Rats in McDonald's Buns (VIDEO)

A Philadelphia McDonald’s restaurant is in the news after a former employee released a cell phone video showing live rats scurrying over and around hamburger buns.
According to Fox News affiliate in Philadelphia, Karrium Demaio said he frequently saw mouse droppings on bread, and was told by the restaurant manager to brush the droppings off the bread, throw out the chewed bread and serve the rest to customers.

5 Foods That will Kill your Brain

1) Trans Fat

Look out for "partially hydrogenated vegetable oils." Trans fat alters metabolic processes and hardens your arteries. How much to have? Zilch

2) Saturated Fat

Leads to the buildup of fatty tissue on the inner linings of your arteries and turns on inflammatory genes. How much to have? No more than 4 grams per hour.

3) Added Sugar

Excess sugar causes the proteins in your body to function improperly, aging your arterial system. How much to have? Main dishes and desserts should contain no more than 4 grams of added sugar per serving. Side dishes should contain no more than 2 grams of added sugars per serving. Total should be less than 4 grams added sugar per hour.

4) Syrups

All syrups. Not just that high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) -- the man-made sugar that does the same things as sugar -- all syrups, like all added sugars increase the risk of dysfunctional proteins, obesity and metabolic syndrome. Be wary of maple and malt syrups, as well. How much to have? Stay away! In total, you want to keep you added sugar count to less than 24 grams, or 6 teaspoons per day, and less than (when combined with added sugars) 4 grams of added sugar an hour.

5) Any Grain But 100 Percent Whole Grain

Whole grains contain a lot of fiber, which helps preventing arterial aging. How much to have? Nada. Never have any -- why age unnecessarily? Why forget what your ideal hunk looked like? Anytime you can swap simple carbohydrates for complex carbs with 100 percent whole grain, go ahead

NICK CANNON in Hospital

Last night, singer Mariah Carey tweeted a photo of her husband Nick Cannon laid up in a hospital bed in Aspen, along with the news that he was hospitalized with a “mild” form of kidney failure.
“Please pray for Nick as he’s fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure,” she tweeted early Wednesday morning.
In a subsequent tweet, she added: “We’re trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C.”
So what is “mild” kidney failure, you ask? Mariah might be referring to Acute Renal Failure, or the beginning stages of kidney failure. But then again, Nick might not be in kidney failure at all (Nick and Mariah are such drama queens).
Most healthy humans have 2 kidneys, 1 each located in your flank area. If you place your hands above your hips and slide each hand a few inches toward your spine, that’s where each kidney is located.

Your kidneys act as a pump filtering out all the chemicals in the food and drink that you take in. Your kidneys also filters out the bad toxins and waste in your blood that results from actions performed by your liver, spleen, and intestines, for example.
Your kidneys are attached to your bladder (located above your groin area) by way of two thin tubes called ureters. The toxins and waste is excreted by the kidneys through your ureters into your bladder and expelled from your bladder as urine.
Therefore, if your urine looks like apple juice (amber or yellow) you’re good. But if your urine looks like coffee, tea or blood, your should consult with your doctor or go to an emergency room.
If the kidneys are impaired by low blood volume, high blood pressure, an infection, illness (diabetes), an accident, or violent trauma, they can’t filter out the toxins and waste from your body. So the toxins and waste backs up in your blood. Your urine will also slow to a trickle, or stop flowing altogether. There might also be changes in the color of your stool, and your feet and legs will swell from water retention in your body.
When this happens you are probably in acute (recent) or chronic (long-term) renal failure or kidney failure.
But there are cases where doctors diagnose people with renal failure yet they look healthy and their urine looks normal. For instance, athletes and bodybuilders are frequently diagnosed with renal failure due to their high protein diets and their use of performance enhancing drugs.
Even though these patients appear to be healthy and they are urinating okay, their blood tests tell a different story.
If the doctor suspects acute renal failure (the beginning stages of kidney failure) or chronic renal failure (long-term kidney damage) he or she will run a battery of blood tests on you, including BUN (blood), Creatinine clearance (urine test), Serum creatinine (blood), Serum potassium (blood), and Urinalysis (urine test), among others.
If your blood work comes back abnormal the doctor will order an ultrasound scan and/or x-rays of your kidneys and abdomen.
Signs (what you see) and Symptoms (what you feel) of renal failure include:
Feeling fatigued or tired all the time
Bad breath
Breathless or short of breath
Bloody stools
Dark or bloody urine
Decreased appetite
Dehydration
Flank pain above your hips toward the back
Dry metallic taste in your mouth
Dry or cracking skin
Nosebleeds or bruising all over your body
Seizures
Swelling in your feet, ankles and legs (not alleviated by elevating your legs)
Excessive urination (especially at night)
No urination
Mental changes, confusion
In Nick Cannon’s case, his blood Creatinine level was probably a little high, and his doctor hospitalized him as a precaution to find out why

FAT JOE on CNN

In an interview with CNN's Sanjay Gupta on Tuesday, Fat Joe further opened up about his obesity and the diseases associated with it. The Bronx native revealed that he's now lost 100 pounds in an effort to maintain a healthy life.

He said, "I was talking to my trainer yesterday and he asked me, 'When was the last time you were slim?' I swear to God I think when I was a month or two months old. That was it, I was Fat Joe ever since." As a successful rapper, his lavish lifestyle led him to splurge on food, he explained. "[I felt like] 'I'm rich now. I can go to Mr. Chow's and eat all the steak and lobster I want.'"

But with the death of his biggest influence and friend Big Pun in 2000 as well as the deaths of six of his friends in the past year due complications with obesity, he said he felt his own life was in danger.

"I think I weighed about 450, 460 at my heaviest. I always took pride in being fat. That's why my name is Fat Joe. And I always represented for the big people. But I realized at a certain point all my big people were dying…My best, best, best, best friends don't even know this but I was diabetic for 16 years--since I was 14. And being that I lost weight [I have] no more diabetes."

Fat Joe's current weight stands at close to 250 pounds after the weight loss.

6 Ingredients To Lasting Relationships

Throughout your life you will develop hundreds of relationships, from the important ones, to the ones that won’t quite matter as much. The very first relationships in our lives are the most important ones, because from there we learn to trust and receive love. Some of people had parents or guardians that were affectionate and taught them morals, values and principles that make us the adults who we are today. But since everyone doesn’t have the same foundation, many adults have short-comings and do not understand how relationships should work.

We normally are not unaware that our actions and thoughts are a reflection of our views about relationships in general. Eventually the vicious cycle of the behavior has been broken down here are some proper ingredients to healthy relationships.

6 keys to a good relationship:

1. Friendship

2. Respect

3. Honesty

4. Trust

5. Understanding

6. Communication

As adults, we can no longer blame our upbringing or past on why we are the way we are, or why we only relate to certain types of people and situations. We are all capable of having long-lasting, meaningful relationships while we are on this journey called life.

5 Quick Fixes Every Relationship Needs

Have you and your partner been together for ages — or are you still sailing along in the honeymoon phase? No matter how long you’ve been a twosome, it’s always smart to take a step back from your relationship to give it a tune-up.

In fact, all relationships need TLC. Without it, partners get lazy and the spark dies out, says Irina Firstein, LCSW, a New York City relationship counselor who has doled out relationship advice to couples for over 20 years.

Her best advice? "Try to remember what attracted you to your partner in the beginning of your relationship. Feel it again and keep it fresh in your mind."

Here, Firstein offers five no-fail tips for recharging your relationship.

Try a Little Tenderness

Here’s a rule of thumb that seems like a no-brainer, but often gets forgotten in the rush of daily life: Be nice to each other! It’s all too easy to take your partner for granted and get wrapped up in kids and work, says Firstein. Instead, try this: Take a moment every day to pay your partner a compliment. "Go out of your way to make your partner feel special and important," she says.

Chit-Chat More

One piece of relationship advice all experts agree on? Communication is key. When was the last time you went out of your way to have a real conversation with your partner — one that you didn't rush through? "Have a genuine interest in every aspect of your mate's life the way you did when you first met and started dating,” says Firstein. “Ask questions and really listen to what they have to say. Be interested in how they feel and what they think."

Add Oomph to Your ‘Thank You’

Do you remember the last time you told your honey how much you appreciate him? A healthy relationship is a blessing, so say thanks with both words and with deeds. If your wife usually gets home from work late, surprise her one night with a homemade, late-night meal. If your husband is usually in charge of yard duty, give him the day off and get out there with the mower yourself.

Abandon Your Comfort Zone

You don’t have to splurge on the expensive or the exotic — any change of pace can be good for a relationship that has gotten into a rut. "If you are in a routine as a couple, just do something totally new and different. Trying new things always sparks something unexpected," says Firstein. It could be as simple as going to a new restaurant or going to a concert instead of watching a movie on your own sofa. Instead of eating breakfast with the kids, have breakfast in bed. Instead of watching the news, go for an evening walk.

And Don’t Forget to Have Sex Tonight!

Remember: Romance is one of the most important parts of intimacy. Look for unexpected ways to show your sexual interest. "Try acting like you can't keep your hands off each other," suggests Firstein. Plan a special breakfast in bed or take a shower together. And if you are a couple with kids, it is crucial to have some private time. "Why not get away for a weekend together, even if it is just at a hotel down the street?" says Firstein.

Can you remember why you fell in love in the first place? Then you’re off to a great start

8 Ways To Maintain Your Health

Eat Healthy.

Stay away greasy fried foods and fast food. Processed foods are packed with sodium and chemicals that are used to preserve it. Develop nutritious eating habits and find healthy foods that you actually enjoy. By making better food choices, you can lower cholesterol, lose weight and possibly even avoid diseases and illnesses linked to unhealthy foods.

Practice Safe Sex.

That’s right, strap it up. Or make HIM strap it up if you are a woman. Or just don’t do it at all. In this day and age, you don’t want to get caught out there playing Russian Roulette with your life. If you are going to do the deed, use latex condoms to protect yourself from catching nasty sexually transmitted diseases.

Exercise.

Studies have shown that regular exercise significantly increases life expectancy and improves overall health. Need to blow off some steam after a stressful day? A physical workout or a 30-minute walk can help improve your mood and assist you in losing weight and/or toning your body.

Don’t smoke.

For some of us, this is easier said than done. But you if avoid smoking tobacco products and recreational drugs (ahem think TI and Tiny), your lungs will be the first ones to thank you. Diseases caused from smoking such as emphysema, mouth, throat and lung cancer and heart disease cause over 440,000 deaths in the United States every year.

Get Screened For Cancer.

If you are a woman, be sure to get regular pap smears since cancer of the cervix can be detected by routine testing. If you are over 50, you should be getting screened for colorectal cancer and prostate cancer (for men only). If you notice any unusual changes going on with your body, consult with your physician.

Get Your Shots.

Most American doctors recommend that adults need a Tentanus Booster about every 10 years. There are also other voluntary shots that may be beneficial to you, such as the flu shot, that can help prevent illnesses you can contract from having normal day to day contact with people.

Lay Off The Booze.

Too much alcohol intake can damage your liver and contribute to illnesses such as cancer. Not to mention, because alcohol can affect your ability to make decisions, you might find yourself a victim in incidents such as drunk-texting (yes, this can be scary the next day) fights, car accidents, murders and rape. If you are going to drink, do it in moderation. This means no more than 2 drinks a day for men and 1 drink a day for women.

Don’t Worry, Be Happy.

I definitely ‘borrowed’ that line from the infamous Bobby McFerrin reggae classic, but what I mean is to avoid stress at all cost and learn how to manage it. Stress is one of the #1 causes of several diseases that can be harmful to your health. So cut off all drama out of your life and save it all for reality TV. Avoid stressful situations, aggravating annoying people and surround yourself with greatness!

5 Hygiene Products Every GQ Man Should Have

Men often get lost in the shuffle for what they should purchase when it comes to products. Taking care of yourself is imperative to creating a healthy well rounded person.

Here are 5 items that no man should be without.

1-Body Wash for Your Skin Type-Instead of relying on your old standby, choose a skin cleanser based on your skin. First, narrow down whether your go-to bar of soap or liquid cleanser is right for your skin type. Axe Body wash offers a wide variety

2-Floss Good oral hygiene will not only give you a healthy smile and fresh breath. Please Please Brush the Back of your Tounge, The back of your tounge is where all the Bad Breath comes from especially in the mornings, it may reduce your chances of heart disease. Surprised? Studies have found that people who have periodontal disease — gingivitis and periodontitis — have double the risk of a condition called atherosclerosis, which is the hardening of arteries. Flossing, in particular, will remove more than just stray poppy seeds; it also removes plaque that causes gum disease, inflammation and tooth decay.

3-Shaving Cream It may seem OK to substitute your face soap or body wash for shaving cream, but trust us: Shaving cream will make your skin feel lighter. Shaving cream, gel or lotion creates a layer of protection between your skin and the razor blade. That protective layer reduces the drag of the blade, in turn reducing the irritation you have from shaving, such as shaving bumps and razor burn. Choose a thick gel or cream with hydrating ingredients, and let it sit on your skin for a few minutes to soften hairs before shaving. Most Black men prefer to an electric trimmer to avoid the bumps from Razor use but still letting shaving cream sit after a Shower helps. We dont recommend after shave cause it causes irritation on the skin leading to more bumps, A simple wash of after shaving and apply Coco Butter will solve most of your after effect Problems,

4-Antiperspirant or Deodorant Americans
spend more than $1 billion every year on products to stop sweat and body odor [source: Grossman]. It’s big business and a big job — the body has about 2.6 million sweat glands, and a person can produce 1 to 3 liters of sweat in just an hour in a hot climate [source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram]. To combat odor, wetness or both, you’ll want to have an antiperspirant or deodorant (or a combination) in your arsenal. Antiperspirants work by temporarily plugging up your pores, making it impossible for the sweat to escape. Deodorants won’t stop your sweat. Instead, they mask body odor with fragrance and by reducing the number of odor-causing bacteria on our skin.

5-Moisturizer-

Just as you’d consider your skin type when searching for the right body wash, you should consider your particular skin needs when buying a moisturizer. If you have normal skin, the world of moisturizers is wide open to you. If you don’t have normal skin, and many of us don’t, you’ll need to be a little pickier.
